Position Overview
GlobalView is looking for a skilled C-Sharp Data Developer to join their Data Integration Team. Our team focuses collecting, analyzing, and redistributing data. Much of the data we collect is delivered via APIs, SDKs, Web Services, and other various sources. We desire a developer who can quickly write small applications that tie into these data delivery services. This developer will help our team build a proprietary data integration SDK to share amongst other developers. The successful candidate will possess expertise in extracting and formatting usable data from screen scraping, malformed hmtl, xml, pdf, excel and text files. Once the data is extracted to a usable format it will be handed off to our database developers. The C-Sharp Data Developer will also develop client applications for monitoring the health of other applications, develop web client applications, and parse application logs, data feeds and database tables. Experience with SSIS, SQL Server, and in the energy industry is a plus. This position is based in our Chicago downtown office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Web/screen/data scraping
- Write applications with various APIs, SDKs and other data services
- Write programs to parse HTML, PDF, XML, Excel files
- Write programs for monitoring applications health
- Write scripts using c-sharp, SSIS, DOS, and regular expressions
- Research and gather energy data for software integration
- Learn and understand the energy data and how our customers use it
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in technical discipline; or equivalent professional experience
- 2-3 years professional experience in C-Sharp, regular expressions, data parsing
- Must be able to update existing applications
- Experience with Visual Studio 2010, Team Foundation
- Experience with SQL Server a plus but not required
